Five bets, one wheel, and five different returns. This is what each route on Evolution’s Ice Fishing wheel actually pays back — and what an hour of it costs when the multipliers do not land.

§ 01 What you are betting on
Ice Fishing is a money-wheel game show. A certified random number generator picks one of 53 segments, a host in an Arctic-themed studio presents the result, and any bet you placed on that segment pays. There are no reels and no paylines — treating it as a slot is the first mistake most players make.
The second mistake is more expensive. Unlike a slot, Ice Fishing does not have one return figure. It has five, one per bet route, and they differ by nearly two full percentage points. Two people at the same table for the same hour can be playing games with materially different long-run costs, purely because of where they put their chips.
| Bet | Segments | Pays | RTP | House edge | Hits roughly |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Leaf 1 | 23 / 53 | 1:1, or 3x–10x boosted | 97.10% | 2.90% | 43.4% of rounds |
| Leaf 2 | 23 / 53 | 1:1, or 3x–10x boosted | 97.10% | 2.90% | 43.4% of rounds |
| Lil’ Blues | 4 / 53 | 3x – 100x | 95.69% | 4.31% | 1 round in 13 |
| Big Oranges | 2 / 53 | 4x – 200x | 95.60% | 4.40% | 1 round in 27 |
| Huge Reds | 1 / 53 | 10x – 500x | 95.17% | 4.83% | 1 round in 53 |
§ 02 How a round runs
You get roughly 10 to 15 seconds. Chips go on Leaf 1, Leaf 2, any of the three fish segments, or the All Bonuses shortcut that covers all three at once.
Betting closes and the RNG boosts a handful of segments. Leaf segments can pick up 3x, 4x, 5x, 7x or 10x. Fish segments can pick up 2x to 10x, which then multiplies every fish inside the bonus round, not just your stake.
One of 53 segments wins. Leaf results settle instantly.
A fish result sends the host to the ice hole. Fish are pulled up one at a time, each carrying a multiplier, with a crane or a helicopter for the heavy ones.
Your stake on the winning route is multiplied by the result. Note the rule that trips people up: on any multiplier win your original stake is not returned on top. A 10x boosted leaf is a 9:1 net win, not 10:1.
Round length varies by operator and by whether a bonus triggers. Expect roughly 30–45 seconds end to end, with a bonus round adding time on top — comfortably faster than Crazy Time, and fast enough that a two-hour session puts far more money through the table than most players expect.
Our simulator uses the real 53-segment split and multiplier ranges tuned to the published RTPs.
§ 03 The three bonus rounds
The one you will actually see. Four segments means it lands roughly once in every 13 rounds, and most catches sit near the bottom of the range. Treat the 100x as a tail event, not a target.
Half as frequent, double the ceiling. Bigger fish need the crane. This is the middle setting: enough hits per session to feel like a game, enough range to matter when it connects.
One segment in 53. This is the only route to the headline 5,000x, and only when a 10x wheel multiplier lands on it first and the catch tops out. Everything about it is rare on purpose.
All three are guaranteed wins in the sense that you always catch something — but “guaranteed win” and “profitable” are different words. A 3x catch on Lil’ Blues after you have covered all three bonuses for several rounds is still a losing sequence. The full breakdown of each bonus is here.
§ 04 What an hour actually costs
House edge is the honest way to read RTP. Leaf bets carry a 2.90% edge; Huge Reds carries 4.83%. Multiply that by everything you stake, not by what you deposit — a $50 bankroll recycled through the table twenty times is $1,000 of turnover.
At 90 rounds an hour with $1.40 across the wheel, you are turning over roughly $126 an hour and giving up something in the region of $4 to $5 of it on average. That number is small, steady and completely unlike what any individual hour will look like.
| Stake per round | Bet spread | Turnover / hour | Average cost / hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| $1.00 | Leaf 1 only | $90 | $2.61 |
| $1.40 | Leaf + all three fish | $126 | $4.34 |
| $3.00 | All Bonuses only, $1 each | $270 | $12.20 |
| $10.00 | Leaf $8 + fish $2 | $900 | $27.00 |

Ice Fishing runs at any casino carrying Evolution’s live suite, which is most licensed operators in regulated European and international markets. What separates them is not the game — the table and the maths are identical everywhere — but the licence, the payout speed, the table limits and whether the deposit and session controls are easy to find.
Licence, limits, payout times and Evolution table coverage side by side.

§ 08 Before you play
Ice Fishing is fast, and fast games make it easy to lose track of turnover rather than losses. Ninety rounds an hour at a modest stake moves more money than most people believe they are risking. Set a deposit limit before the first spin rather than after a bad one, and use the reality-check timer your casino offers.
If the session stops being entertainment, free and confidential help exists in most countries. We list the services and the practical tools here.
